After many fruitless searches of EXACTLY what you mentioned in your video feed, i decided to sit down and listen to the whole thing, and within a few minutes have a much more clear and logical view of these 2 (mining / oil) industries and an understanding of WHY, OH WHY I couldn’t even get a look in. yeah, I am desperate for cash and unskilled and I will be using all your tips to get thru the Search Page Optimisation rubbish to actual job application opportunities! Well done, best wishes and MANY MANY THANKS for taking the time to explain to the ignorant out here why so many unskilled applicants hit brick walls and give up (..’get disheartened’ a better term..).

Troubles Of Finding An Oil Rigs Job

Despite thorough searching, I had great difficulty trying to find an oil rigs job. Unless you know what you are looking for you will have the same problem that I did.

When I was first looking for an oil rigs job I was desperate for quick cash so I thought I would try my luck at finding a job in the oil and gas industry. It wasn’t just the high paying wages that attracted me, it was also the time off and the fact that I didn’t need a degree to get a job.

I soon found out that I wasn’t the only one chasing one of these high paying jobs. The funny thing was, everyone seemed to talk about them but nobody knew where to find them! I knew nothing about the industry and started to think that I was crazy to imagine that somehow I would be the lucky one that stumbled across and advertisement for an unskilled oil rigs job that no one else could find. It was like searching for a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

I had absolutely no trouble at all finding oil and gas industry recruitment agencies and job search sites. However, the job search sites only had management positions posted and for some reason I just didn’t trust the recruitment agencies. Some of them were charging hundreds of dollars to submit a resume with no guarantee of getting a job, it just didn’t seem right to me.

I didn’t have much cash at the time so I wasn’t willing to take the risk. Plus I didn’t like the idea of handing over my resume and just sitting at home hoping that someone would actually get back to me.

I found the whole experience to be totally frustrating and I was ready to give up when finally I got a lucky break.

An Oil Rigs Jobs Can Be Found!

My persistence paid off and I finally got a job with a good drilling company. At the time I didn’t really put much thought into what the difference was between what I was doing wrong earlier and what I had done to get the job. But after speaking to hundreds of people who have told me that they attempted to get a job in the industry but couldn’t find any entry level jobs, I started to wonder why these jobs were so hard to come by.

Initially I was confident that I would find the answer by asking co-workers how they got into the industry. Although I found some quite a few things in common with the different stories, it was only later when I went on the internet and did some more searching for an entry level oil rigs job that I finally worked out what I had been doing wrong.

Finally it all made sense and once I knew the answer I couldn’t believe how long it took me to figure it out. Not only is answer simple, it actually makes a lot of sense and you will probably kick yourself for not thinking working it out. If you haven’t figured it out, don’t feel bad because I thought about it for months before working it out and in fact I am a little embarrassed to admit it.
